River Valley Walk #1: Wîhkwêntôwin (formerly Oliver) to Garneau
Start in a cozy downtown neighbourhood and walk through Edmonton's river valley and across the North Saskatchewan River. You'll end up on the University of Alberta campus via the Menzies LRT bridge, and reward yourself with a coffee and donut at Ace Garneau. It's a perfect Sunday walk! If it's summer, you can catch the High Level Streetcar back across the river, too.
Distance (one way): XXkm
Time (one way): 1 hour
Difficulty: Some not-insignificant uphill coming out of the river valley on the southside, but hey, this is the price of descending into the river valley!
*You can run or bike or scooter or rollerblade this whole route, it is fully paved - your blog editors are just huge walkers!
